Personal Best Photo
What makes a photo interesting and appealing is:
- The placement of the subject (rule of thirds)
- Contrast and color
- Amount of light hitting the subject

Line and Shape
I used the implied lines to make the ordinary extraordinary. I was generally close to the subjects because I needed the best detail in each shot. I considered the rule of thirds in all three images but in the last one I found that it was more interesting when the center wave was in the middle third. The third image was the most interesting to me because the shadows guide the viewers eyes from left to right so they can appreciate the detail.
Pattern and Texture
The point of these shots is to show the pattern and texture of anything around. I found that flowers and water make great subjects for pattern, the best shot I took was the top left image with the water drops on the flower. The way the light hits the water on the pedals makes the flowers have more detail. Focusing the camera on a specific point such as the water drops in the spiders web was difficult to get right, so I would probably reshoot that one to take the time and focus it right.
